Unic Press UK: COVID-19, the disease cause by a coronavirus known as SARS-CoV-2 might never be completed eradicated, says the Executive Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Health Emergencies Program, Michael Ryan.
“It is important to put this on the table: this virus may become just another endemic virus in our communities, and this virus may never go away. HIV has not gone away. We have come to terms with the virus. And we have found the therapies and we have found the prevention methods. And people don’t feel scared as they did before…,” Ryan said on Wednesday during a media briefing on COVID-19.
