Unic Press UK: World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has warned countries to eschew a hasty lifting of restrictions placed to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Speaking at a press conference, he said “lifting restrictions could lead to a deadly resurgence,” thereby making a case for continuous lockdown and movement restrictions subsisting in countries battling the spread of COVID-19, a highly contagious disease that has killed more than 100,000 globally since its advent in December 2019.
"I know that some countries are already planning the transition out of #StayHome restrictions.
WHO wants to see restrictions lifted as much as anyone"-@DrTedros #COVID19 #coronavirus

"At the same time, lifting restrictions too quickly could lead to a deadly resurgence.
The way down can be as dangerous as the way up if not managed properly"-@DrTedros #COVID19 #coronavirus
