Unic Press UK: The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu, said the Nigeria government response to COVID-19 is driven by science and evidence, and national daily testing capacity has improved from 500 to 1500.
In an interview with Taiwo-Hassan Adebayo of Premium Times, an online news agency based in Nigeria, Ihekweazu said the NCDC hopes to increase the number of laboratories for COVID-19 tests from 9 to 14 within 1 month.
The NCDC boss said Nigeria, in tackling this COVID-19, continues to learn from the positive actions taken by other countries, the World Health Organisation, and Africa Centre for Disease Control.
