Nigeria Presidential Election 2019: Debate Group Announce Dates For Debate

Unic Press UK: The Nigerian Election Debate Group (NEDG) and Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria (BON) announced Thursday the dates for Presidential and Vice-presidential Election debate, providing another platform for the candidates of different political parties to answer questions on the state of the nation and their planned policies if elected into office.

The presidential debate would hold on Saturday, the 19 January 2019; and the vice-presidential candidates would have theirs on Friday, the 14 December 2018.

In a televised speech Thursday on Channels Television, John Momoh (OON), who spoke for the NEDG said:

“The debates would hold at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja; and would be broadcast live on all BON member stations across the country. The debates would also be streamed live on all mobile and social media platforms ,such as Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to give it a global coverage. Among others, the debates would focus on the issues that matter most to working families – restoring our economy, providing electricity, creating jobs, securing healthcare for every Nigerian, making and achieving excellence in every Nigerian school, and ensuring safety and security for all Nigerians. . . Nigerians expect the leaders of all political parties to be challenged in a very public and robust way in these debates, not just one of them, but a series of them.”

Nigeria General Election 2019 would hold on Saturday, 16 February 2019, from 08:00 hrs (Lagos time).
