Twitter Urges 330 Million Users To Change Password Over Bug Intrusion

Unic Press UK: Twitter Inc., a social network leviathan, has urged millions of its users to change password(s) after unearthing a bug that might have exposed the personal data of many of its users.

“When you set a password for your Twitter account, we use technology that masks it so no one at the company can see it. We recently identified a bug that stored passwords unmasked in an internal log. We have fixed the bug, and our investigation shows no indication of breach or misuse by anyone. Out of an abundance of caution, we ask that you consider changing your password on all services where you’ve used this password”, Twitter said in a terse message that pops up when a user logs in.

The social network also said that its internal investigation had shown no indication that the passwords of its users had been stolen or misused by insiders.
