Nigeria: Multi-million Naira Tank Farm Opens In Ogun State

Unic Press UK: A tank farm with 300 million litre capacity, which was built by a private limited computer has been commissioned in Ibefun, Ogun State, Nigeria, by Nigerian vice president Yemi Osinbajo.

The 300 million litre tank farm has 4,000 truck capacity park, 30,000 metric tonne vessel, 16 barges, a 30kt vessel,  8 tugboats and 30 loading gantries, the chief executive of Petrolex Group – the local private investor – Segun Adebutu, said during the commissioning ceremony.

In his remarks, the Group Managing Director of the Corporation, Maikanti Baru, said:

“NNPC has taken the lead in supporting local players in both the upstream and downstream sub sector of the Petroleum Industry. We are therefore willing to support Petrolex in whatever way we can. I am pleased to say that this vision is complimentary to NNPC’s mandate to ensure products availability and seamless transportation across Nigeria. It is a bold stride at complimenting Government’s effort.”

Having successfully completed its first phase, Petrolex Group says its second phase is on course to establish: 50 modern retail stations; 1.2 billion litre capacity storage; Lube plant; Gas processing facility; Fertilizer plant; and a refinery that will situate near the tank farm, which on completion, will operate at a capacity of 250,000 bpd.
