Unic Press UK: Sokoto monarch, who doubles are the leader of the Muslim faithful in Nigeria, Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has condemned the killing of human beings by criminals masquerading as servants of God.
Speaking on Friday, the 6th October 2017, during the 57th Founders Day fete of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, in his lecture ‘Restoring the Dignity of Man: Education As A Veritable Tool’, said:
“Human dignity is God-given. Any society where the sanctity of life is not protected cannot be said to be civilised. The promotion and protection of human life and dignity can only come through education. Education holds the key to development and development is people-centered and people-driven.”
The king, Sultan of Sokoto, admonished all herders of cattle who invade communities killing human beings to protect their cattle, calling such people criminals.
