NNPC Vows To Sustain Products Supply

Unic Press UK: Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) would ensure adequate supply/distribution of petroleum products in all parts of the country, the corporation’s group managing director Maikanti Baru said at the annual general meeting of its downstream subsidiaries, the Nigerian Products Marketing Company (NPMC) and the Nigerian Pipelines and Storage Company (NPSC).

Baru said that several strategies had been deployed to facilitate/sustain regular supply, viz:

  • NNPCs decision to unbundle the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company Limited (PPMC) into NPMC and NPSC, which commercialized the operations of the company.
  • Executing the strategies that are aimed at drastically minimizing incidences of pipeline infractions, especially engaging the members of various host communities.
  • Resuscitating some of NNPCs critical pipelines/depots, such as, the Atlas Cove – Mosimi Depot Pipeline, Port Harcourt Refinery – Aba Depot Pipeline, Kaduna – Kano Pipeline and the Kano Depot, which enhanced efficiency in the distribution of products.
  • NNPC’s constructive engagement with the critical downstream stakeholders, such as, Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) and Independent Petroleum Marketers.
