Unic Press UK: Doctors in Nigeria would commence a nationwide strike action on Monday to express their grievances over the Federal Government violation of the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding signed circa four months ago.
In a statement Saturday, Uyilawa Okhuaihesuyi, the President of NARD, said: We are embarking on a total and indefinite strike on 2 August 2021. There was a memorandum of action on March 31, 2021, and an addendum to it on 9 April but there remain several irregularities in paying salaries to the house officers.
The strike action is coming at a time the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, surprisingly, is in the UK to attend to his health and participate in a virtual summit.
