Unic Press UK: Iranian physicist and brigadier general in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh is dead, reports the Press TV.
Fakhrizadeh, who was the head of the Iranian Defense Ministry’s Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research (SPND), was “assassinated” in what appears to be a terrorist attack near Tehran – the capital city of the Islamic Republic.
Iran blames Israel for the death of Fakhrizadeh, a key figure in the country’s military nuclear research.
The Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Baqeri, the military advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander, Major General Hossein Salami have all linked Fakhrizadeh’s death to the “Zionist regime”.
In a tweet Friday, Iran’s foreign minister said: “Terrorists murdered an eminent Iranian scientist today. This cowardice—with serious indications of Israeli role—shows desperate warmongering of perpetrators Iran calls on international community—and especially EU—to end their shameful double standards & condemn this act of state terror.”
