Unic Press UK: A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja ordered an honourable member of the Nigeria House of Representatives to produce a defendant in court of risk going to jail.
The judge, Okon Abang, ruled that Hon. Umar Sani Galadima (PDP – Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency, Zamfara State) must produce Faisal Abdulrasheed-a son of Abdulrasheed Maina-in court on 4 December 2020, reports Premium Times.
Umar Galadima is the surety for Faisal Abdulrasheed, whom the court had granted bail in December 2019 in a money laundering case filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Another lawmaker, Ali Ndume of the Nigeria Senate, has been in custody since Monday. Ndume (APC – Borno South), stood as surety for Abdulrasheed Maina, Faisal’s dad and a former chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT). , is being held on the order of Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in connection with the refusal of Maina to further appear in court in continuation of a criminal charge.
