What they’ve said:
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA): “The NBA strongly condemns this act of recklessness and lawlessness by the security apparatus of the Government in what, based on reports available to us, appears to have been a carefully calculated and premeditated attack… even if the protesters at the Lekki Toll Plaza are were in breach of the curfew imposed by the Lagos State Government, such misdemeanour or breach did not warrant the use of live ammunition by the Nigerian military…”
Amnesty International Nigeria: “These shootings clearly amount to extrajudicial executions. There must be an immediate investigation and suspected perpetrators must be held accountable through fair trials. Authorities must ensure access to justice and effective remedies for the victims and their families.”
Hillary Clinton: “I’m calling on @mbuhari and the @hqnigerianarmy to stop killing young #EndSARS protesters. #StopNigeriaGovernment”
Socio-Economic Rights Accountability Project (SERAP): “We urge @MBuhari government to take responsibility by immediately stopping thugs from setting media houses, courts & other public buildings on fire & to ensure peace & security across the country. Buhari should make security & safety of everyone his top priority”
