Unic Press UK: The Russian President Vladimir Putin and the United States President Donald Trump spoke on Sunday by phone, expressing appreciation over Trump’s administration sharing intelligence that helped the Russian government thwart a terrorist attack in Russia.
Following a tip-off from the U.S., the Russian security service arrested two Russian citizens over a plot to carry out a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg during New Year’s celebrations.
“In a statement on its website, the Kremlin said: Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the United States of America Donald Trump at the initiative of the Russian side. Vladimir Putin thanked Donald Trump for the information transmitted through the channels of U.S. special services that has helped thwart terrorist acts in Russia. The two presidents discussed a range of issues of mutual interest and agreed to continue bilateral cooperation in combating terrorism.”
