U.S. House Of Representatives Votes To Impeach President Trump

Unic Press UK: A majority of the U.S. House of Representatives members voted Wednesday to impeach President Donald Trump, accusing the most powerful man in America of abusing his power – obstructing legislative work and trying to sway the Ukrainian national authorities to investigate a political rival.

With this outcome, President Trump becomes the third president in U.S. history to be impeached, though he is very likely to remain in office as there is, probably, no chance at all that an impeachment trial to be heard early next year in the Senate would lead to the president’s sack.

The Republicans, led by President Trump, control the U.S. Senate by a majority. And the leader of this upper chamber, Senator Mitch McConnell, has said the president would neither be convicted nor impeached.

According to an online poll conducted by Reuters/Ipsos soon after the U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach, a majority of the American people do not support impeaching President Trump.
