National Election: Israel Voters Head To Polls In March; 3rd Time Within 11 Months

Unic Press UK: Israel voters would be heading back to the polls in March 2019 as its political deadlock continues as parliamentarian in the 120-member Knesset gained the support of 61 MKs by the deadline, Wednesday midnight, to form a governing coalition.

With the Knesset dissolution, and new elections required in 90 days time, precisely 10 March, the MKs passed a Bill to the effect that the next National Election would hold on 2 March because 10 March falls on a Jewish festival known as Purim.

The coming election scheduled to hold on 2 March would be the third consecutive National Election within a period of 11 months, yet there’s no clear indication that the convoluted political issues that overwhelm the State of Israel would be resolved as none of the political parties is being tipped to command a majority to form a government without a coalition.

The Likud Party led by current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Blue and White Party where Benny Gantz is the leader are the two largest parties could not reach an agreement to jointly run a government after the April 2019 ended in a stalemate, where no single political party had what it takes to form a government on its own.
