Unic Press UK: The Kogi State Election Petition Tribunal has nullified the election of Dino Melaye, who, hitherto served as a Senator and a member of the 9th National Assembly, representing Kogi West.
In a unanimous judgment, a three-man panel headed by Judge A. O. Chijioke ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a fresh senatorial election in the Kogi West senatorial district.
Reacting to the decision of the Tribunal, Mr Melaye said: “No cause 4 alarm at all. Even if it went my way they will still go to the Appeal Court. Our mandate can not be taken. We will get judgment at the Appeal Court.”
