Confirming the arrest of Sowore, who is among the top leaders/organizers of a so-called revolution scheduled to hold in Nigeria on August 5, 2019, President Muhammadu Buhari’s aide on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie said that the news publisher is in custody to circumvent his attempt to commit suicide.
“…With talks about setting himself ablaze, it’s in order for the security operatives, whose role it is to safeguard both lives and properties, to take him into custody to prevent him from harming himself and get him the help he needs,” said Onochie on Twitter.

The Nigerian Police Force has issued a warning on the planned revolution march. The Inspector General of Police (IG), Mohammed Adamu on Saturday said that an attempt at a revolution or regime change is treasonable felony and act of terror. In a statement Saturday. Adamu said:
“The attention of the Nigeria Police Force has been drawn to a video circulating on the social media by the ‘Global Coalition for Security and Democracy in Nigeria and others’, inciting Nigerians, home and abroad, to join a planned ‘revolution’ march against the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on Monday, 5th August, 2019 with the sole aim of forcing a regime change in the country. The Force wishes to state unequivocally that the call amounts to treasonable felony and acts of terrorism and will therefore not stand idly-by and watch any individual or group in the society cause anarchy in the land.”

So much ignorance packed in there. I’m seeing fuel, electricity increments and free schools there…..Does Sowore even know anything about governance?
Then he’s talking about sham elections, he doesn’t know where electoral disputes are settled?
Sowore is dull https://t.co/aXCKx6I0d6— SoulJah (@jeffphilips1) August 3, 2019

All well-meaning Nigerians should stand with @YeleSowore and defend his constitutional right and freedom to protest any matter of Governance that worries him.
Mr Sowore’s convening of Citizens to protest Poor Governance – via #RevolutionNow– is Constitutionally guaranteed.
