Unic Press UK: Turkey is in receipt of the first shipment of S-400 air defense missile system equipment from Moscow, says Turkey’s Defense Minister, Hulusi Akar.
In a statement, Hulusi Akar said:
“Three planes were planned for today. As planned, all the aircraft arrived and all activities planned for today have been completed. This process will continue in the coming days. There are some principles that we have set in this regard. In line with these principles, we have had negotiations with China, Russia, the U.S., and France. These negotiations showed us that Russia is the most compatible country. The training of our personnel for installing and operating [the Russian S-400s] has been ongoing in both Turkey and Russia,” the Anadolu Agency (AA) reports.
Defying intense pressure from Washington on the S-400 deal, Ankara signed a contract for the delivery of four S-400 batteries in April 11, 2017.
