Iran: Sections Of U.S. Spy Drone Retrieved In Our Territorial Waters After Being Shot Down

Unic Press UK: The Islamic Republic of Iran said Thursday it had retrieved parts of the  U.S. RQ-4 Global Hawk surveillance drone that was shot down on Thursday morning by its Revolutionary Guard Corps at 04:05 at the coordinates (25°59’43″N 57°02’25″E) near Kouh-e Mobarak region in the central district of the Jask County of Iran’s Hormozgan province.

Writing of Twitter, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif said: “… We’ve retrieved sections of the U.S. military drone in OUR territorial waters where it was shot down.” He added that Iran would be making a formal complaint to the United Nations over what he describes as U.S. aggression and economic terrorism. “We’ll take this new aggression to #UN & show that the US is lying about international waters,” Zarif said.

Speaking on the shooting down of a U.S. drone, the commander of U.S. Air Forces Central Command, Lt. Gen. Joseph Guastella said Iran’s action was an unprovoked attack, and “an attempt to disrupt our ability to monitor the area following recent threats to international shipping and free flow of commerce.”  While U.S. President Donald Trump said “Iran made a very big mistake.”
