Unic Press UK: The Supreme Court of Nigeria in a judgment delivered today has nullified all the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in the Zamfara Election 2019.
In a unanimous judgment, a five-man panel of Justices of the Supreme, led by the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad ruled that the candidates of all the political parties [except the APC] with the second highest number of votes and spread as required by law, stands elected, the Premium Times reports.
Prior to the General Election 2019, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced that the APC had no valid candidates in Zamfara having failed to meet the legal requirements to field candidates, including failing to hold INEC-supervised APC primaries within the stipulated time.
