Unic Press UK: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of Nigeria affirms commitment/readiness for the General Election 2019.
With regard to the Smart Card Readers (SCRs) to be used for the election, INEC said Wednesday on Twitter: “… we have now achieved 100% completion of the configuration. We are good to go on this score.” The SCRs are configured to specific polling units; and only open for use at 8 AM on Election Day.
The electoral commission, INEC also confirmed that the movement of election materials to the various Local Government Areas (LGAs) are in progress.
Nigeria General Election 2019 would hold on February 23, 2019 for Presidential and National Assembly, while the Governorship and State House of Assembly and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council Elections is to hold on March 9, 2019.
