Unic Press UK: A former security aide of the French president Emmanuel Macron, Alexandre Benalla is in police custody over possible misuse of diplomatic passports. He is also facing allegations of forgery involving an official document, the Associated Press reported.
Benalla, had, a few weeks ago acknowledged that he is still using a diplomatic passport despite being fired in July 2018 when a video recording of his beating a May Day protester became public knowledge.
The French presidency did distance itself from Benalla’s issue, claiming that it formally requested that the diplomatic passports be returned.
