Unic Press UK: A tape in which the Nigerian minister of transport, Rotimi Amaechi was recorded as he berated his principal, President Muhammadu Buhari, has gone viral.
Excerpts of Amaechi’s statement which were secretly recorded on the leaked tape reads:
“The president is not listening to anybody. He doesn’t care. You can write what you want to write, the president doesn’t care. Does he read? He will read, he will laugh. He will say come come come they are abusing me here. In fact there was one case of somebody in Onitsha, a trader, who couldn’t sale his goats during Sallah, and I was with Oga [President] in the plane, and the man was busy abusing Buhari that because of Buhari nobody is buying his goat. And he [President] said, Amaechi come, what’s my business with Onitsha goat seller? This country can’t change… This country can never change, I swear. The only way this country can change is in a situation where everybody is killed. When Magnus [Abe] was my SSG [Secretary of the Rivers State Government], I told him this country is hopeless, hopeless and helpless… two months in Abuja, he [Magnus] said this country is hopeless and helpless. All they do in Abuja is to share money.”
Leaking the recorded tape Saturday on Twitter, Reno Omokri, who served as special assistant to Buhari’s predecessor, said: “LISTEN and SHARE as the DG of the @MBuhari campaign @ChibuikeAmaechi, destroys Buhari.”
Today, Reno took to Twitter again, promising to release Part 2 of the tape, saying: “Yesterday, I set up the @NGRPresident. I knew if I released the full #AmaechiTapes, they’d say it was fake. Now that @ToluOgunlesi admitted it is actually Amaechi, but from 2014, here is the rest of Part 1 proving that @AsoRock lied. Part 2 is coming shortly. LISTEN and SHARE.
