Unic Press UK: An opposition political party, the People’s Democratic Party of Nigeria, said in a statement Thursday that Muhammadu Buhari has no moral standing to remain in office as president of Nigeria having failed to address the serious allegations of promoting corruption and diverting public funds.
The PDP’s position follows the calls by her presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar through a press release by one of his aides, Phrank Shaibu, saying: The appropriate authorities should “urgently institute a probe to unravel the hidden faces behind the new ownership structure of multi-billion naira telecoms giant, Etisalat Nigeria, as well as Keystone Bank,” the statement reads.
Atiku further expressed shock at the “reports from unimpeachable sources that the first family now plays big in the nation’s financial sector after acquiring mouthwatering shares in Keystone Bank with total assets of $1.916 billion (equivalent to N307.5 billion) as well as purchasing about ₦3 billion worth of shares in the new Pakistani Islamic Bank.”
President @MBuhari no longer has the moral standing to seek re-election in 2019 until he directly answers our Presidential candidate, @Atiku, on the revelation that the President has soiled his hands in the alleged corrupt acquisition of Etisalat Nigeria and Keystone Bank PLC. pic.twitter.com/6tHBk50yjT

The @OfficialPDPNig Presidential Campaign challenges President @MBuhari to explain how his family members came about the sum of N1.032 trillion for this scandalous acquisition.

Reacting to the allegations, the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) made a series of tweets, accusing the PDP of desperation and blackmail.
6. @OfficialPDPNig is acting an anti-people's script. @NGRPresident @MBuhari remains unshaken by the desperate efforts being made by @atiku and @OfficialPDPNig to blackmail the APC government. Everyone who was involved in corrupt practices would be brought to justice.
