Planned Meeting Between Putin & Trump Now Out Of Question – Kremlin

Unic Press UK: The possibility of a meeting in Washington between the Russian President, Vladimir Putin and the United States President, Donald Trump has narrowed in the light of present circumstances, the Russian News Agency TASS reported, citing comments made by Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

“Back then, this possibility was looked at but now it is out of question. No one says a word about it because now general prospects for their next meeting are unclear. Critical mass of dialogue is needed for that, but now it is lacking. De facto, the easiest option is to meet on the sidelines of international multilateral forums. The next such event will be held in Osaka. It will be the next Group of Twenty summit, in six months. And it is an untenable pause both for our bilateral relations and for international security and stability,” Peskov said.

Back in July, while speaking during a press conference after the 10th BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) summit, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin said he is ready for a meeting with the U.S. President, Donald Trump in Washington or in Moscow – the capital city of Russian.

“We are ready to invite President Trump to Moscow, where, by the way, he had already been invited to, and I have already told him about this. I am also ready to travel to Washington, if appropriate conditions are in place for our work. It is important that appropriate conditions are in place for our meeting and such conditions must be arranged in our countries as well,”Putin said.
