Unic Press UK: Given what appears to be a failed attempt to assassinate the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, the Nigerian Senate has asked that the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs to investigate what happened at Ekweremadu home in today’s early hours.
At plenary, Ekweremadu had informed the Senate about an incident, which took place at circa 05:00 hrs today, Tuesday, the 6th November, 2018, saying that his family escaped assassination. “I called the IGP and other security agencies, their phones were switched off. The assailants left in a hurry and left some of their weapons. I fear for my life. This country is no longer safe,” he said.
