Atiku Condoles People And Abia State Government Over Pipeline Explosion

Unic Press UK: The vice-presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming 2019 General Election, Peter Obi, today visited the Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to condole the people and government of Abia over the fatal pipeline explosion that killed many persons in Umuimo and Umuaduru communities in Osisioma Local Government Area, Abia State.

On behalf of the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, Mr Obi delivered a condolence message and made a monetary donation towards assisting the families of the victims’. Obi said that Atiku was saddened when he heard of the explosion, and heartily condoles the government and people of Abia.

On his nomination as the PDP vice-presidential candidate, Obi said:
“We in the South East have never been divided and we have never acted against each other. I’ve consulted with governors Umahi, Ugwuanyi and of course today I’m here with my brother Ikpeazu. I’ve spoken to Senator Ike Ekweremmadu, one of our leaders. Of course Senator Abaribe is here with me. I’ve spoken with all of them including T. A Orji and Sam Egwu. For us, we are going to work like a team. For us what is important is to rebuild Nigeria and rebuild the South East,” the Abia State Chief Press Secretary Enyinnaya Appolos said in a press release.
