PDP Presidential Primary: Aminu Tambuwal Congratulates Atiku Abubakar

Unic Press UK: Sokoto state Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has issued a congratulatory message to the winner of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary election Atiku Abubakar, pledging his support.

In a written message Tambuwal said:

“On behalf of myself, my family, and millions of my supporters from across the length and breadth of the country, I heartily rejoice with and congratulate you on your emergence as the flag bearer of our great political party, the PDP. Your emergence through a transparent process is a testament to the fact that the PDP is now a reformed party and has sent a strong signal about our resolve to bring about the desired national transformation needed to turn around the fortunes of our beloved nation Nigeria,” the News Agency of Nigeria reports.

 Atiku Abubakar, 71-year-old former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and a former Nigerian Customs Service apparatchik, was, on October 7, declared the winner of the PDP Presidential Primary Election, which was held from October 6 to October 7 at the Adokiye Amesiamaka Stadium, Port Harcourt – the capital city of Rivers state of Nigeria.

Atiku Abubakar, who is from Adamawa state in the North East region of Nigeria, garnered a massive 1,532 or 48.5% of the total valid votes.

Sokoto state Governor Aminu Tambuwal came second, receiving 693 votes. In the third position was the Senate President Bukola Saraki with 317 votes. Rabi Kwankwaso pulled 158 votes, Ibrahim Dankwambo 111, Sule Lamido 96, Ahmed Makarfi 74, Kabiru Turaki 65, Attahiru Bafawara 48, David Mark 35, Jonah Jang  19, Datti Baba-Ahmed 5
