Julius Malema: South Africa Should Withdraw From The Commonwealth

Unic Press UK: The leader of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party, Julius Malema, has called on the South African government to withdraw from the Commonwealth, saying Tuesday on Twitter, “Actually, the policy of the EFF is for South Africa to pull out of the commonwealth.”

In a series of tweets, the ‘maverick’ politician Malema accused the Commonwealth of colonization. He advocated for “a border-less continent”, one currency, one parliament and one President that can unite the continent Africa.

The Commonwealth is an association of 53 sovereign States and home to circa 2.4 billion people. It was founded in 1931, and currently led by the Queen of England, Elizabeth II.
