Unic Press UK: The commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Major General Qassem Soleimani, Thursday issued a statement in response to a tweet by the United States president, in which, President Trump charged that the Iranian government must desist from threatening the United States.
“You threaten us with an action that is ‘unprecedented’ in the world. This is cabaret-style rhetoric. Only a cabaret owner talks to the world this way. We are near you, where you can’t even imagine. We are the nation of martyrdom. . . Come; we are ready. We are the man of this arena. You know that this war would mean annihilation of all your means. You may begin the war, but it is us who will end it,” the Press TV reports, quoting Soleimani.
The war of words between the officials of the two countries started when Iran President Hassan Rouhani chided the Trump administration, saying: “The Americans should learn well that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace and war with Iran is the mother of all wars,” to which the U.S. President responded via a tweet that further threats from Iran would elicit “consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before.”
