Unic Press UK: Khalid Ali, a 28-year-old male from Edmonton in north London, who was arrested with knives in Parliament Square, London, on 27th April last year, has been jailed for terrorism and plotting knife attacks in the United Kingdom.
Ali’s crime included traveling to and making bombs for a terrorist in Afghanistan, and plotting to carry out terror attacks in London, and being in possession of an explosive substance.
Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC sentenced Ali to 40 years for making Improvised Explosive Devices for the terrorist group Taliban and another 25 years for plotting to kill in the United Kingdom. The sentence will run concurrently, the convict will therefore serve at least forty years in prison.
According to the BBC News, Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC said: “I am sure your plan was to attack and kill someone in central London. Your preparations were complete and you very simply had to identify your precise target and his or her death was very likely to be caused by a knife attack. I think you would have killed any police officer you could.”
