Unic Press UK: The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Alteration) Bill 2018 (SB. 694), which seeks to establish both a Federal Police Force and a Police Force in every State of the Republic, was read the first time Thursday at a plenary session of the Nigerian Senate.

The Bill, Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Alteration) Bill 2018 (SB. 694), which is being sponsored by the Nigerian Senate Deputy President, Ike Ekweremadu (PDP-Enugu West), seeks to create a State Police Service Commission, National Police Service Commission and National Police Council; and unbundle the Nigerian Police Force into two, viz, the Federal Police Force and the State Police Force.
