Unic Press UK: The European Commission (EC) has announced a €34 million humanitarian aid to Kenya and Uganda, aiming to assist the displaced populations in the two African countries.
“Kenya and Uganda are among Africa’s major hosts of refugees, with millions urgently needing assistance. The EU stands in solidarity and is committed to support the most vulnerable refugees. Our new funding will help both those already displaced and the new arrivals into Kenya and Uganda,” said Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides.
Of the total amount, which is €34 million, the sum of €24 million (70.59%) will be deployed in Uganda – a country recognized as “the largest refugee-hosting country in Africa”, while €10 million (29.41%) will be utilized in Kenya.
