Las Vegas Shooting: More than 50 Dead, 200+ Injured

Unic Press UK: More than 50 people have been murdered and more than 200 others wounded by an active shooter in Las Vegas.

The active shooter, who was wielding an automatic firearm late Sunday while atop the 32nd floor of a hotel, opened fire on innocents at circa 10:08 p.m. on Sunday during a massive outdoor music festival in the south end of the Las Vegas strip, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said. 22,000 is the estimated number of concertgoers at the music festival at the time of the incident.

Law enforcement personnel and other emergency services responded quickly, securing the scene of the incident, which is near the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

“One suspect is down” the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said. An active investigation is in progress, though Police authorities seem to have concluded that the gunman was one Stephen Craig Paddock, 64-year-old. Paddock is a white male from Mesquite, Nevada, United States.

Marilou Danley, a woman, is being sought for questioning with regard to ongoing investigations into the gory incident.

U.S. president Donald Trump issued a condolence statement on the incident, Las Vegas Shooting, extending sympathies to the victims and families.
