Unic Press UK: U.S. president Donald Trump has proclaimed that Sunday, the 3rd September 2017, will be a ‘National Day of Prayer for the Victims of Hurricane Harvey and for our National Response and Recovery Efforts’.

TRUMP, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim September 3, 2017, as a National Day of Prayer for the Victims of Hurricane Harvey and for our National Response and Recovery Efforts. I urge Americans of all faiths and religious traditions and backgrounds to offer prayers today for all those harmed by Hurricane Harvey, including people who have lost family members or been injured, those who have lost homes or other property, and our first responders, law enforcement officers, military personnel, and medical professionals leading the response and recovery efforts. Each of us, in our own way, may call upon our God for strength and comfort during this difficult time. Trump’s proclamation is a fillip to the Texas governor Greg Abbott’s earlier proclamation making same day, 3rd September, a day of prayer in Texas, for the all connected to the disaster caused by Hurricane Harvey.

Hurricane Harvey, which made first landfall as a Category 4 storm near Rockport, Texas, on 25th August 2017, caused a major disaster, overstretched the emergency services, and triggered a demand for and the actual mobilization of about 25,000 National Guard troops.
This hurricane did cut-off water and power supply in several parts of Texas, pollute the environment, displace circa 95,000 people from their homes and cause human death.
