Unic Press UK: The U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that peaceful pressure on the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will be pursued in spite of the communist country’s military ambition.
Tillerson made the remarks in the course of an interview Sunday, the 27th August 2017, with Fox News. He said:
“Clearly they are messaging to us as well that they are not prepared to completely back away from their position. Having said that, we are going to continue our peaceful pressure campaign as I have described it, working with allies, working with China as well to see if we can bring the regime in Pyongyang to the negotiating table, with a view to begin a dialogue on a different future for the Korean Peninsula”
At a point during the interview, the Secretary of State, Tillerson, said that President Donald Trump “speaks for himself”. He made the comment when responding to a question on the recent racism-related violence in Charlottesville, especially as it relates to Trump’s blunt refusal to categorically denounce White supremacists over the racially motivated violence in Charlottesville.
