North Korea Says Situation Very Critical, U.S. Must Be Careful To Avoid Fire

Unic Press UK: The military drills frequently staged by the United States in Korean peninsula and in other places could trigger a serious conflict, the North Korea news agency KCNA reports, citing a statement by the spokesman for the Strategic Force of the Korean People’s Army (KPA).

In the reports by KCNA, the Strategic Force of the Korean People’s Army (KPA) flayed the U.S. for:

  • Test-firing ICBM Minuteman-3 at its Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.
  • Mobilizing the nuclear strategic bombers currently stationed at its Anderson Air Force Base on Guam in the Pacific.
  • Staging a mock nuclear strike drill targeting the strategic resources of North Korea.

The North Korean government accused the U.S. of “inappropriate and reckless military actions”, threatening to make “an enveloping fire at the areas around Guam with medium-to-long-range strategic ballistic rocket Hwasong-12 in order to contain the U.S. major military bases on Guam”.

The statement by a spokesman for the Strategic Force of the Korean People’s Army (KPA), which was published today might be North Korea’s official reaction to a stern warning to the communist state by the U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday. In a statement yesterday, Trump had denounced the North Korean leadership under Kim Jong-Un, saying:

“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen. He has been very threatening, beyond a normal statement, and as I said, they will be met with fire, fury and, frankly, power the likes of which this world has never seen before.” (Donald Trump: 8th August 2017).
