Unic Press UK: A hashtag #CNNBlackmail is trending on Twitter after Cable News Network, CNN threatened to expose the true identity of the being behind a meme in which the U.S. president Donald Trump overpowered a man with CNN’s logo for a head. Trump had shared the meme in a tweet on Sunday, the 2nd July 2017.

CNN discovered the person who made the meme, saying that the meme maker will not be named “because he is a private citizen who has issued an extensive statement of apology… CNN reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change.”
The reactions against the CNN’s approach to a meme many had viewed as a mere humor has been swift. The media giant is now being accused of threatening/blackmailing the maker of the wrestling meme.

Julian Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks weighed in, accusing CNN of blackmailing a private citizen, suggesting the the media giant had broken the law.
