Trump Calls Terror Threat ‘Very Real,’ Pressures Courts To Reinstate Extreme Vetting

The Washington Times: President Trump heaped more pressure Monday night on the federal courts to clear the way for his extreme vetting executive order, posting a Twitter message warning that the terrorist threat “is very real.”

The Justice Department will be in a federal appeals court Tuesday afternoon to ask a panel of judges to reinstate Mr. Trump’s order, which a lower court halted late last week.

The president has been merciless in bashing that judge and warning that blood will be on his hands if another attack occurs.

On Monday, Mr. Trump seemed to be prodding the appeals court as well.
“The threat from radical Islamic terrorism is very real, just look at what is happening in Europe and the Middle-East.[sic.] Courts must act fast!” the president tweeted.

Mr. Trump’s policy halts visitors from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Sudan, Libya and Yemen for 90 days, and halts the American refugee program for 120 days. Both delays are meant to give the government a chance to improve its screening, Mr. Trump said.
