Unic Press UK: The United Nations Security Council on Monday, the 31st January 2017, expressed grave concern over violence/dangerous deterioration in Ukraine, particularly the situation in the country’s eastern region.
The Security Council further expressed the importance of a ceasefire, saying that the parties to the conflict should abide with the Minsk Agreements to end casualties [human deaths and injuries].
The Security Council expressed full support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, underscored the importance for a strict compliance with its Resolution 2202 (2015), and called on the parties to the conflict to implement accords aimed at a peaceful settlement in Eastern Ukraine as stated in the Minsk Agreements.
The violence in Ukraine had led to a number of civilian deaths and injuries, disrupting the supply of water, gas, electricity.
