Unic Press UK: President Donald Trump’s chief strategist Stephen Bannon said the mainstream media in the United States should feel “humiliated” for the roles its played during the 2016 presidential election. Bannon spoke to New York Times.
“The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for a while… The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States,” Mr. Bannon said in an interview on Wednesday, according to The New York Times.
Trump has been unequivocal in attacking the mainstream media, accusing them of dishonesty in ways that favoured his main rival Hillary Clinton during his campaign.
Recently, precisely on Saturday, the 21st January 2017, when Trump addressed a large audience at Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), he said: “I have a running war with the media. They are among the most dishonest human beings on Earth.”
