NASS Summon Buhari Over Economic Recession In Nigeria

Unic Press UK: President Buhari has been summoned to appear before a joint session of the National Assembly – comprising the two legislative houses known as the Senate and the House of Representatives – to answer questions apropos the economic recession in Nigeria.

The recent reports on Nigeria’s economic outlook illustrates a significant decline in virtually all economic activities.

As of August 2016, the rate of inflation peaked at  17.6%, says the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The militant forces operating in the Niger Delta area have drastically reduced Nigeria’s crude oil output. Last month, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), said: “If the current situation remains unchecked, it could lead to the crippling of the corporation and the nation’s oil and gas sector, the mainstay of the Nigerian economy.”
