APC Promoting Corruption In Nigeria, Says Martin Onovo

Independent / Nigeria: A former presidential candidate of the National Conscience Party (NCP), Chief Martin Onovo has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of promoting corruption in Nigeria while claiming to be waging war against it.

Onovo, who spoke in an interview with Independent also claimed that the anti-corruption war of President Muhammadu Buhari is one-sided and targeted at the opposition. According to him, most corrupt politicians in Nigeria today are in the ruling party.

“Everybody is saying the anti-corruption war of the APC is one-sided. Even the UK Telegraph said that it is political and is targeted at the opposition. The Office of the U.S. Department of Justice said the anti-corruption war is meant to destroy the opposition”.

“Senator Shehu Sani, an APC serving senator from Kaduna State, said the anti-graft war is political. Senator Sani belongs to the same party as President Muhammadu Buhari. It is very clear to us that the APC government has corrupted the anti-corruption war that is critical to national development. With that, APC is directly promoting corruption in Nigeria. When you corrupt the anti-corruption war, that is the mother of all corruption”.

“APC has their governorship candidate in Kogi State charged to court by the EFCC. They mismanaged the case and later gave him the governorship ticket. That is corruption. That was also what they did in Bayelsa. Is that how to fight corruption? The message APC has sent to Nigerians is that you can be as corrupt as anything as long as you are in APC. That is the message to Nigerians. The most corrupt people are in APC” he said.
