Unic Press UK: Nigerian football team at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Dream Team VI, has qualified for the semifinal of the tournament having beaten Denmark with two goals.
Mikel Obi scored Nigeria’s first goal in the 15′ minute of play, while Aminu Usman got the second.
The Nigerian team has been impressive despite hiccups here or there, including:
- The players’ and coaches unpaid entitlement.
- Delays to their arrival in Rio as the team struggled to pay for a flight ticket from Atlanta [USA] to Rio in Brazil.
- The players had boycotted a training session in a dispute over unpaid wages and bonuses.
Semifinal: Nigeria’s next match against Germany will hold on Wednesday, the 17th August 2016, at 20:00hrs.
