Unic Press UK: The former speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, on Sunday, the 7th August 2016, said that the former President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo, is the most corrupt Nigerian.
Na’abba, in the course of answering questions from journalists’, made this assertion as a response to Obasanjo’s consistent position that the National Assembly is comprised of corrupt characters.
He said: “This is the man who became President with nothing, and today he is one of the richest Nigerians. Let him explain to Nigerians how he acquired the money.”

Na’abba claims to be aware that lucre was given to the National Assembly members, both the House of Representatives and the Senate, by Obasanjo.

He claims that most Senators got fifty million Naira each, while forty million Naira was distributed to each member of the House of Representative, though some rejected the bribe out-rightly.
On budget padding, the former speaker said the issue of padding arose where some members go behind and add items of expenditure to what has already been agreed upon.
