The only goal of the match was scored in the 109’minute by Éderzito António Macedo Lopes (known as Éder)
In the course of the match, Portugal lost her best player, Cristiano Ronaldo, in the 25’minute from injury. Ronaldo was injured in his knee in the 17’minute after a clash with Dimitri Payet of France, but France could not take full advantage of the exit of the football legend.
