2019 General Election: PDP, Atiku Abubakar Launch Presidential Campaign

Unic Press UK: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate in the forthcoming General Election and a former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar launched Monday his campaign for election.

In a 9-minute broadcast, which has gone viral on the social media, the Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who’s chosen a respected business guru and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi as his running mate, said:

“Are you better off than you were four years ago? Are you richer or poorer? That is why our primary focus is to get Nigeria working again. . . I will offer an inclusive leadership. It is one thing to promise and another thing to deliver. . . A promise is an indication to do a future action. A policy is a plan to achieve future goals. To me leadership is having the discipline to commit ones goals until they are a reality. I have succeeded in running my private enterprises, which now employ fifty thousand Nigerians. I am prepared to lead. Over the last 18 months, I have worked with the best experts Nigeria has to offer to come up with policies and plans that when implemented will get Nigeria working again. When I was the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from 1999 to 2007, I chaired the National Economic Council; that gave Nigeria her highest and most consistent GDP growth of over 6% per annum, despite that the crude oil prices were much cheaper than they are today. Under the dynamic leadership of General Obasanjo, we paid off Nigeria’s entire foreign debt. We introduced the GSM revolution. We were able to achieve this and much more because we had a plan; and that plan worked. . . This is my plan to get Nigeria working again: A plan that will give Nigerian workers a living wage; a plan that will give Nigerian youth world-class education; a plan that will empower Nigerian women, reduce maternal mortality and increase their financial stability; a plan that will invest in our failing infrastructure. . . a plan that will create jobs. No state will receive less funding than they get today. May God bless you and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Nigeria General Election 2019 would hold on Saturday, 16 February 2019, from 08:00 hrs (Lagos time).
