“You Can Trust Me And Mr Peter Obi” To Fix Nigeria – PDP’s Atiku Abubakar

Unic Press UK: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar says his team has the wherewithal to fix the challenges facing Nigeria.

Speaking in Enugu at the Nike Lake Resort Hotel, during a Summit attended by many PDP apparatchiks and the South East leaders, including an eminent constitutional lawyer Professor Ben Nwabueze, Nnia Nwodo (Ohaneze Ndigbo President), Uche Secondus (PDP Chairman), Prof. Uzodinma Nwala, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, HRM Igwe Afred Achebe (Obi of Onitsha), Senator Ben Obi, Prof. (Mrs.) Uche Azikiwe, Olisa Agbakoba (SAN), Prof. Anya O. Anya, Lt Gen Azubuike Ihejirika (former Chief of Army Staff), Esom Nwafor Orizu, Archbishop Maxwell Anikwenwa, Prof. Walter Ofonagoro, Senator Chris Anyanwu, Babangida Aliyu (former governor of Niger State), Gbenga Daniel (former governor of Ogun State), Senator Ben Bruce, and several other top traditional, political, intellectual, cultural and religious leaders, the PDP flag-bearer Atiku Abubakar expressed his disgust over the state of infrastructures in the country, mentioning the deplorable state of the Akanu Ibom International Airport runway as an example of the sorry situation, pledging rapid economic development/growth if elected as president.

“My commitment is to fix this country. I think of the future this country will have, if I do not struggle to fix it. Our economy must be fixed and you can trust me and Mr Peter Obi to do it. I am always scared coming to Enugu because of the state of the runway of the airport. What does it take to fix the runway? I am a product of a restructured Nigeria. So it is a settled issue. Article 7 (2) of the Constitution of the APC says that the party believes in restructuring and state police but what have they done about this? We need to mobilize ourselves and vote for a ticket that will restructure Nigeria,” he said.

In his remarks, Professor Ben Nwabueze said:

“With this kind of assemblage, how can we not achieve our purpose? Success is ours, we are here for our own self survival. . . we all know that Ndigbo have been reduced in this country. . . we must fight for our own self survival because we became relegated to almost irrelevancy, and we must change that. We must organise round a ticket that will help us for self survival and that is the ticket of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. We must not let that opportunity pass us by.”
