Unic Press UK: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has again flayed the Buhari-led administration for monumental corruption, calling on the Nigerian people to unite against the forces of corruption in the Republic in the light of what has happened – unprecedented corruption in the history of the country – since Muhammadu Buhari was sworn in as president.
In its effort to take power from the All Progressives Congress (APC), the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) will meet the former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta today, Saturday, as the party explores the several options and the strategies towards defeating the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming 2019 Presidential Election, the News Agency of Nigeria reported on Friday.
Speaking to journalists in Abeokuta, the PDP chairman Uche Secondus said that Obasanjo is a “warrior” with vast experience having fought many titanic battles.
The retired army general, Olusegun Obasanjo (OBJ), was the military ruler of Nigeria who exited power on 1 October 1979. Later on, he became the Head of Government in a civilian hue, serving as the democratically elected president until 29 May 2007. He is a major force in Nigeria’s political space; and played a key role in the emergence of the current president, Muhammadu Buhari.
