Unic Press UK: The pro-independence political leaders of Catalonia are snubbing the Spanish Monarchy, the Associated Press reports.
The newly elected President of Catalonia, Quim Torra, says the Catalan government won’t invite the Spanish Monarchy to any of its official events, and won’t send delegates/representatives to any event organized by the royal family.
The decision of the Catalonia government is not unconnected to the fact that the King of Spain, Felipe VI, has repeatedly refused to hold discussions on the possibility of Catalonia independence from the Kingdom of Spain.
On the 1st of October 2017, the people of Catalonia had voted on a referendum of self-determination, and more than ninety percent] expressed full support of an independent State from Spain.
